INVITED / SPECIAL SESSIONS AND OPEN TRACKS

Participants are invited to organize:

  1. invited sessions;
  2. open invited tracks;
  3. special sessions (Industrial, New Frontiers, Special Projects, etc.);

In all cases the topics should fall within the scope of the symposium and address specific well defined limited issues.

Invited sessions

Invited sessions consist of papers of the regular format focusing on targeted subjects and presenting a unifying theme. Invited session organizers should submit a proposal that summarizes the aim and the content of the invited session. An invited session proposal should include:

  1. a title;
  2. an abstract;
  3. a choice of keywords;
  4. a detailed description of the topic;
  5. the titles, authors and abstracts of all five contributions.

Organizers obtain, upon submission, an invited session code that they should distribute to contributors. The invited author(s) should submit their paper(s) by using this code. All corresponding papers will be evaluated as regular submissions. If at least 5 papers are accepted the session is included in the symposium program as an invited session. If an invited session is not accepted, accepted papers submitted to this session will be included in regular sessions. Invited session presentations may be in the form of regular papers (6 pages).

Invited session proposals must be submitted through PaperCept page.

Open invited tracks

Open invited tracks consist of papers of the regular format focusing on targeted subjects and have no upper limit on the number of papers; only those tracks having gathered more than 5 papers will be considered. Open invited track organizers should submit a proposal that summarizes the aim and the content of the open invited track. The proposal should include:

  1. a title;
  2. an abstract;
  3. a choice of keywords;
  4. a detailed description of the topic.

The IFAC 2018 INCOM symposium web site will advertise the submitted open invited tracks. Organizers are asked to submit proposals as early as possible and no later than the open invited tracks submission closure. Organizers obtain upon submission an open invited track code. As soon as an open invited track is submitted, the IPC Chairs will verify the relevance of the submitted topic with respect to the scope of IFAC. The open invited track code will also be displayed on the symposium web site. Contributors are asked to enter this invited track code when submitting their papers.

Open invited track proposals must be submitted through PaperCept page.

Special sessions (Industrial, New Frontiers, Special Projects, etc.)

Special sessions offer a venue for the presentation of topics of special academic, social or industrial interest, such as emerging research areas or most recent trends in manufacturing engineering. The format of special sessions is more flexible – it allows a panel discussion, led by the session chair(s), to motivate the exchange of opinions among presenters and participants. Special session presentations may be in the form of regular papers (6 pages) or Extended Abstracts (2-3 pages). However, Extended Abstracts will not appear in the post-conference Proceedings of INCOM 2018 published in IFAC-PapersOnLine.

Special session proposals must be submitted through PaperCept page.
