VALCALEPIO AND SUARDI CHAPEL

Departure to Trescore and guided tour, you will be able to admire the famous frescoes by
Lorenzo Lotto at The Suardi Oratory, considered the most demanding work of his artistic career.
Following transfer to Carobbio degli Angeli for a guided tour to Acetaia, wineyard and vinery (2
hours).
Guests will be accompanied in a cultural route in the canteen, where they will be involved in the
discover of the vinification and sparkling techniques.
Then short walk to S. Stefano historical village, to Testa’s Acetaia where lives all the batteries
dedicated to the production of the “Balsamo degli Angeli”.
After the visit, Mr. Testa will propose a wine degustation. Come back to Bergamo around
14.00. pm.


BERGAMO

A special guided tour through Città Alta which tells Bergamo millenarian story. The old city on
the hills is surrounded by its majestic walls, built by Venetians in the XVII century; it offers tourists
enchanted medieval views. Here we will find noblemen’s houses covered by frescos, monuments
and squares together with narrow streets of medieval charm.
You will see the well-known Piazza Vecchia (Old Square) with its municipal tower, the Town hall,
siege of the citizen government from the Middle Age, and Dom’s square with the most important
religious monuments of the city, the Dom dedicated to St. Alexander, the Basilica of Santa Maria
Maggiore, Colleoni’s Chapel and the Baptistery.
Here in the upper city music lovers can visit the birthplace of Gaetano Donizetti, his museum
and the grave where the music composer, famous all over the world, is buried. Moreover we
will visit the fortress and the castle of San Vigilio, which together with their walls, gun ports and
gates tell us about an extraordinary fortified city.


BERGAMO: the opportunity to discover one of the most important Museum of
Italy

The tour starts in front of Accademia Carrara which has recently re-opened after 7 years of
restoration and which is one of the most important Museum in Italy for Renaissance.
Besides the section relating to the masterpieces, various groups of works have been chosen on
the basis of a shared theme. These groupings do not necessarily contain the most significant or
representative works in the museum, but are invitations to explore what the Carrara has to offer
with a free, curious and even ironic gaze. They are a means of grasping the complexity and
wealth of the collections and an invitation to identify and choose, in addition to these trails,
other possible and personal interpretative keys.
We choose for your tour the artworks of Lorenzo Lotto. Alchemy and mysticism, symbols, secrets
and enigmas are concealed in the wonderful light-filled faces painted by Lorenzo Lotto, one of
the greatest artists of the Renaissance.


COMO AND BELLAGIO

Departure by private bus to Bellagio, known as the “pearl of Lario”, famed for its enviable
position and picturesque old buildings. Linked to all the main towns of the lake by a boat
service, Bellagio has an old parish church dedicated to San Giacomo, dating from the second
half of the 13th century. You will be able to wondering around its colourful little shops and stop
you to having lunch in one of the many lakeside restaurants. The most famous of these is Villa
Melzi, built as a summer residence at the beginning of the 19th century for Francesco Melzi
d’Eril, a friend of Napoleon. Its wonderful English gardens, full of rare exotic plants, can be
visited during spring time. Villa Serbelloni, collocated in a panoramic position, now owned by
the Rockefeller Foundation, has an extraordinary garden with grottos dating from the 18th
century.
Lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon come back to Como by boat (about 1 hour of trip) and visit
of the historical center. Arrival in Bergamo in the evening.


VENICE

Mark’s square and Rialto Bridge, or to breathe special atmosphere of this unique city in some
little streets off the beaten track.

mirrored in the waters of canals, villas fortresses and castles has inspired the works of great
writers of the Twentieth century such as Ernest Hemingway and Ippolito Nievo.


MILAN

Milan is the most famous fashion and design city in the world. New technologies, art and
fashion meet up together in Milan which means first of all creativity and inventiveness.
To get an idea of how artists, scholars, scientists and musicians were so inspired in Milan, it is
enough to pass a moment in front of “Il cenacolo vinciano” (Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper”)
, spend a couple of hours in the Pinacoteca di Brera and in the Museo di Storia Naturale
(Museum of Natural History), loose yourself in the scenery of the Castello Sforzesco (Sforza
Castle) or attend world class musical events at La Scala Theatre, one of the best established
opera houses in the world.
